Sculpture: Plaster, wood, concrete, aluminium, ≈ 2m10 x 1m20 x 3m20
The dropped ceiling, a strong post-war (office) building ‘aesthetic’. This interior element is stripped off its original, functional purpose, now presented as an autonomous object in public space. This sculpture was developed for the temporary ‘Stijl’pavillion in Amersfoort, Netherlands. Initiated by Stichting Stijlpaviljoen, artists were asked to re-interpret the ‘De Stijl’ movement, in celebration of its 100th anniversary.
