Handmade Linocut print 'Mont Aiguille'

Reduction linocut print, printed in a limited edition of 20 pieces. This work is printed from one lino plate on professional Fabriano 160gr/sqm paper. This print features two colour layers. Numbered, titled and signed by hand by the artist under the image. Inks used are non-toxic, soy-based inks.

This print was inspired by the geology of the Vercors mountain range in France. This is where this remarkable limestone mountain is found.

A geology and architecture inspired practice

Les Reliefs, the printmaking practice of Dutch artist Maurice de Rooij, specializes in linocut and woodblock prints. Maurice draws inspiration from European mountain ranges (Alps, Jura, Vosges). He researches these places through sketching, hiking, and writing.
