Handmade Woodcut / Woodblock print 'Solitude'

Woodcut / woodblock print, printed in a limited edition of 37 pieces in two colour variations. This work is printed from two linden woodblocks on professional Clairefontaine Simili Japon Blanc paper (250gr/sqm). This print features two colour layers. Numbered, titled and signed by hand by the artist under the image. Inks used are non-toxic, soy-based inks.

A geology and architecture inspired practice

Les Reliefs, the printmaking practice of Dutch artist Maurice de Rooij, specializes in linocut and woodblock prints. Maurice draws inspiration from European mountain ranges (Alps, Jura, Vosges). He researches these places through sketching, hiking, and writing.
